Stroud police issue penalty notice to driver travelling to ride quad bike

Stroud police have issued a penalty notice to a van driver who was travelling to Whiteshill to ride a quad bike.

Posting on their Twitter account, Stroud police said: “Lockdown is not over.

“Driving a van to Whiteshill to ‘exercise’ your quad bike in woodland is not essential travel.

“When the driver of this van called our officer lazy for speaking to him about his trip he compounded his shame.

“A penalty notice followed.”
