MINCHINHAMPTON joined the nation as it paused for two-minute silence to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day and remember those who fought and lost their lives in the Second World War.

Here Special Constable Patchitt of Stroud Police is pictured observing the two-minute silence at 11am, beside the town’s war memorial.

The town also had a special visit from Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, who laid a wreath at the war memorial.
