The UK Shared Prosperity Fund intends to reduce inequalities between communities – it is part of the Government’s so-called “levelling up” agenda.
Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie wrote on social media: “The Government has recently launched the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and I am thrilled that Stroud has been allocated just under £1.4million.
“This new funding delivers on the Government’s commitment to match the previous EU structural funds but this funding will be more flexible and led locally.
“By empowering local communities, the Shared Prosperity Fund will enable local leaders to make the best decisions for their areas.
“I look forward to continuing conversations with community groups and elected local leaders to see how best this money can be invested for Stroud.”
