A 50-YEAR-OLD woman who was caught over the drink-drive limit in Cirencester has been given a suspended sentence.

Jacqueline McCarthy, of Charlton Street, London, pleaded guilty to the offence when she appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on June 22.

McCarthy also admitted to driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance.

Magistrates heard how McCarthy was stopped whilst driving on Dugdale Road, Cirencester, on May 5.

A breath test revealed that she had 49 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms.

McCarthy was sentenced to four months in jail, which was suspended for one year, after magistrates heard she was given a 36 month driving ban in March.

She was also disqualified from driving for 42 months and ordered to pay costs totalling £213.
