A Tetbury man who used to rummage through his kitchen cupboards looking for his next high fat fix, says he has fallen in love with food again following a remarkable weight loss journey.
Paul Green lost more than four stone in four months after joining Slimming World, and now runs the Tetbury group.
He has now shared his story in the hope of helping others in the community.

“I’d follow a diet for a bit, then I’d give up as I’d get so hungry, and I’d grab crisps or biscuits feeling like such a failure,” he said.
“When I went out for a meal I’d always order the wrong thing, that wasn’t going to help me lose weight and when I got home I would feel so guilty that I would go through the cupboards looking for the next high sugar, high fat fix.
“There are so many temptations all around when you’re trying to lose weight. And when you have a big appetite and constantly feel hungry, it can be so hard to resist grabbing a snack. You end up beating yourself about how much you eat, and food becomes your enemy.
“Now, I plan what I’m going to eat, and I know that because I’m enjoying meals that fill me up, I’m less likely to snack.
“When I first joined Slimming World and learnt that you could eat a big bowl of spaghetti bolognese or a huge plate of cottage pie along with piles of veg and eat to until you’re full, I nearly cried with relief.
“The magic of Slimming World is that because you learn to make choices of foods and meals that fill up and satisfy your appetite you don’t feel hungry so often and it’s easier to resist those temptations and stay in control.
