Brandon Jennings’ brilliant free-kick gave Lads Club the lead inside the opening ten minutes before Rob Whitlock made it 2-0 shortly after half-time.
That lead was halved in the 68th minute when Rhys Hodgson benefitted from goalkeeper Steve Bell’s fumble to stick the ball in the back of the net.
That seemed to kick start the Thorns into action and once Brandon Benjamin had equalised with a header, there was only going to be one team winning the contest and Harry Brock was the hero as he nodded home from Hodgson’s deep cross.
After digging deep in a scrappy game to beat Longlevens AFC last Friday under the lights, Thornbury were looking to continue their current form having won four of their last six games.

Tom Webb had received an award before the game to mark his 400th first team appearance for the club with Harry Brock and captain Nathan Sage getting the goals.
Against Hereford, Thornbury started well, playing some good football but the end product was lacking.
Then, after a mistake and subsequent foul on the edge of the box, Hereford scored with a pin-point free-kick from Jennings after ten minutes.
Thornbury finished the half strongly although struggling to test the Hereford âkeeper and it remained 1-0 at the break.
However, five minutes into the half, a long ball wasnât dealt with and centre-forward Whitlock was on hand to roll the ball into the net to double the visitors lead
But just after the hour mark the comeback started when Franklin found Hodgson and he beat the âkeeper to the ball and tucked the ball in the bottom corner.
The equaliser came with 15 minutes to go when Benjamin headed home a Sheppard-Cozens delivery and the comeback was complete five minutes later when top scorer Brock got on the end of Hodgson’s cross.
Hereford had a player sent off towards the end of the game and Thornbury negotiated the lengthy time added on comfortably to pick up a well earned, and deserved, three points.
Thornbury were bottom of the table for long periods earlier in the season but are now out of the bottom two, and the relegation zone.
