Two people have died after a tree fell on a car as it travelled through the Cotswolds last night.

The incident occurred around 10.15pm on the B4077 at Stanway Hill.

The road remains closed north of Ford and at the Toddington roundabout as police carry out recovery and investigation work at the scene.

It is likely that the road will be closed for some time today and drivers have been are asked to find alternative routes.

The next of kin of those who were in the vehicle has been informed.

Anyone who witnessed the incident but has not spoken to the police should call 101 and quote incident 405 of November 21.
