POLICE have given an update on those who were arrested in a Stroud murder probe.
Detectives investigating a murder after the body of a woman was found in a flat in Stroud were yesterday given more time to question those arrested in connection with the incident.
Magistrates at Cheltenham Magistrates Court granted a warrant of further detention for a man from Stroud who was arrested on suspicion of murder.
This man remains in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.
Officers have until later this evening (Sunday) to continue questioning him.
A man and woman from Stroud, who had also been arrested on suspicion of murder, remained in police custody yesterday after 12-hour extensions were granted by a Superintendent.
The second man and the woman have now been released without charge and face no further action.
Officers had been called to an address in Chapel Street on Friday 4 November at around 4.15pm after concerns were raised by a neighbour.
The death was initially treated as being unexplained, but the results of a post-mortem examination led to a murder investigation being opened.
The body is believed to have been undiscovered for some time and detectives are still waiting for confirmation of the identity of the victim.
