The heatwave is set to continue across Gloucestershire this week.
Temperatures will be just below 30°C for most of today, and will remain high for the next few days.
Thunderstorms are a possibility, particular later in the week.
The Met Office’s forecast for the South West is as follows:
A fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine for most places. Some fair-weather clouds forming during the afternoon, with a risk of the odd sharp shower. Feeling very warm. Maximum temperature 29°C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday
Very warm weather will continue through this period, with plenty of sunshine. However, there is a risk of some isolated showers developing for each afternoon.
Long range forecast for Friday to Sunday
High pressure will still be dominating much of the country to start this period, but will begin to drift away to eastwards. A band of rain with showers and thunderstorms approaches the southwest Friday morning, before likely to spreading erratically northeast over the weekend. Still very warm, locally hot for many, and probably feeling increasingly humid. Conditions will continue to be cooler for some northern areas and windward coasts. Some low cloud, mist and sea fog can be expected for some of these areas, as well as for parts of the southwest into the weekend.
