Woman suffers broken foot in assault at Cheltenham Festival

A WOMAN had her foot broken in an altercation with a man at Cheltenham Festival on Gold Cup day.

Gloucestershire Police are now appealing for witnesses who helped woman or who may have seen the assault in the racecourse car park last Friday.

The woman sustained a fractured foot in the altercation that took place in the green car park at Cheltenham Racecourse following Gold Cup day on Friday, March 18.

The incident happened between 5.15pm and 5.30pm following an altercation between the pair before the woman was assaulted by a man where she was pushed over and sustained a fractured foot.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “It is thought that there were witnesses that intervened at the time but no details were exchanged.

“Investigating officers would like to speak to those who offered the woman help, and anyone who witnessed the incident.”
