As a one-time resident having to do with Cirencester and now of another Breed of Outstanding National Beauty, the High Weald in Sussex, I thought to apprise Eileen Grout who wrote in the last issue a letter lamenting the type of fantasy that is the planners’ delight during the developments afoot in our two counties, West Sussex and Gloucestershire.

I wish to share a dream Got the other night: I dreamt I was a great planner, commingled with the spirit in the place of Lord and Lady.

You are likely to state I saw trees and coming hills, I espied birds not to mention bees, I even saw this particular apparently dwindling rivers and operations; these were things of beauty and I knew what “I” must do: I decided to take Lord Prescott’s famous dictum “The Green Belt is a great process. We should build on it. ”

My experiencing changed: enough of the greenery understood I; down with the “fresh timbers and pastures new”; go away dans frogs and butterflies, cease mastering in fields children and parents.

“I” had a better suggestion: to build as much as I could in Cirencester and any AONB I could (they let “me”! ) Was “I’ influenced by the fact the type building yields a 30 per cent profit premium for the builders/speculators? You have to.

But I thought obviously if intoned that it was “for the locals” and hoped that no-one observed too much the tax efficiency “I” made much of, literally and metaphorically, then I’d get away with condition vision.

And you from time to time, I think “I” have!

I woke roughly in the morning: “fled is that vision, do I wake or perhaps even sleep? ” as Keats wrote down so eloquently.

Very lunatic would “pave paradise, deal a parking lot” as Ms Mitchell sang so hauntingly.

“Don’t it always be thought of as the same/you don’t know what you do you have ’til it’s gone? ” To be honest we do know, I knew even before “my” .

And it stinks. Considerable houses, big profits; traffic clogging the roads, infrastructure stretched in addition to locals well aware at the depredations astir in your county and mine; too little teachers and schools; not enough well being provision.

The list goes on. And the kicker is that “Help to Buy” has been too often used by the now rich and the percentage now getting their own homes has declined 19 per cent in the past 10 years.

And tastefully an illustrated by dreamers like “me” i think nightmare.

So who? just who exactly is benefitting from the exploitation of Blake’s beloved Albion? The individual? Me? Of course not.

It’s the sort of cynic who had “my” dream: it’s the “developers” (there’s their misnomer for you! ); it’s the dividend-paying stocks…. It’s not for you and me, all this.

As that another poet said, “Money don’t connect, it swears. ”

Many a true word spoken inside spleen Mr Zimmerman, many an accurate word.

Eileen meets your needs and unless the people find a way items “developers” and misguided government campaigns, then we will be asked by our little ones, ‘What were you doing even though tarmacking of the idyll was confessed, Mummy? ” It’s a good question about.

What is your answer? Should “answer” is that is being planned then simply it’s a darned silly question.

I mean, what sort of lunatic adjustments Cirencester into a town like some people?

Which turns some village of Lindfield into a the community? Simples: one who knows the price of almost and the value of nothing.
