Road closure set for Painswick

A ROAD in Painswick is due to be closed to traffic for four nights while the road is resurfaced. The works on part of the A46 Cheltenham Road in Painswick start tonight (Tuesday, July 16) and will continue until Friday, July 19. A 29-YEAR-old woman has been charged with drink driving after hitting a donkey on Minchinhampton Common. A chef at a luxury hotel near Tetbury has been sacked after pouring boiling butter down the buttocks of a fellow employee. Nathan Davies was left with visible scarring following the incident at Calcot Manor Hotel and Spa. Much-loved donkey, Alfie, is recovering after being hit by a car. Stroud residents were rocked yesterday by reports that Alfie, who resides on Minchinhampton Common, had been hit by a car.
